What are the top 10 Places to Visit in Amazing Catalonia, Spain?
Since I was a resident of Catalonia for more than a year, I decided to share my TOP 10 PLACES to visit in this area. ⠀
1. NATURAL PARK DELTA DEL L’EBRO⠀
The sand beach from this photo is actually a semi-desert, a part of the largest wetland in Catalonia called Delta del Ebro. Rich in flora & fauna with plenty of delicious local specialities, seafood & locally grown rice, Delta del l’Ebro will definitely make you come again! Do not forget to explore El Fangar peninsula and a semi-desert!
This charming Catalan village with a marvellous castle on top of the hill will make you fall in love quite fast! You can admire it’s dazzling appearance while kayaking along the Ebro river. I advise you to stroll around this colourful town/village and admire its uniqueness and the Templars castle situated on top of the hill.
What to say about this captivating medieval town? Ambling through the streets feels like a time machine ride. Together with Amsterdam and Dubrovnik, Girona is my favourite city in the whole world (so far). Game of Thrones was also filmed here same as in Dubrovnik.⠀
4. BLANES – MARIMURTRA⠀
Blanes in Spain is cuteness overload – that’s how I can describe this place. It is surely worth to be on the list of top 10 places to visit in Catalonia. The botanical garden called Marimurtra has a large collection of Spanish flora but also from all the continents plus many rare spices. ⠀
It’s located on a hill right next to the sea – the views are to die for!
5. LA FORADADA – SERRA DE MONTSIÁ⠀
6. BARCELONA – SAGRADA FAMILIA⠀
We all know that Sagrada Familia is a magnificent art piece that tells many stories. It’s beautiful from inside as much as it is from outside with plenty of details.⠀
7. COSTA BRAVA⠀
Take a road trip along this coast and enjoy the best sand beaches in Catalonia. This area is very popular among divers.
A striking seaside town with an amphitheatre right next to the beach.
9. SERRES DE CARDÓ-EL BOIX
Mountain range full of caves and cave paintings, hiking trails & stunning views.⠀
10. COSTA DORADA⠀
Long, sand coast with plenty of beaches & cute little towns.
Have you ever been to any? If not, which one looks the best to you?
